On Friday Emily and I went to an event at the Olympic Sculpture Park here in Seattle. This was an addition to her dress that I put together the day before.
This used a strip of 71 Neopixels running the ark reactor program from an Adafruit learning guide. The project was running on an Adafruit Trinket and a 6000mAh battery.
The glow was bright, but not overwhelming. I always know when I have a well executed LED project because no one can figure out how it is lit. Most thought it was EL wire and a few asked if it was a glow stick. The key to this one was facing the LEDs inward. The light you see is actually light that is reflected off of the inner layers of the dress. That gave me a nice and evenly distributed glow with no hot spots.
